Jesus Christ Superstar

Although, being almost 40 years ago, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice wrote the greatest rock musical the world has ever known and heard.

When their show premiered in Australia, at the special Capitol Theatre Sydney during the year 1972 in the month of May, Harry M Miller and Jim Sharman chose an unknown rock singer for the role of Judas and launched the career of one of Australia´s most victorious performers.

Encore Theatre Company takes great pleasure in announcing that in March 2012, at Tasmania, Jon English will be coming home to the show that made him a Superstar world-wide.

Presented by Encore Theatre Company and featuring a colossal cast that stars the extremely popular Tasmanian performer Brett Budgeon playing the role of Holy Jesus, the musical being presented by Andrew Lloyd-Webber and Tim Rice would be the moving  narrator of the final seven days of the life of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Julie & Simon- Moments to Remember at Burnie Arts & Function Center

Moments to Remember is a beautiful play starring the very talented Julie Anthony and Simon Gallaher, two of Australia’s most popular singing stars, who are performing together on stage after a very long time only at Tasmania.

Julie and Simon first performed concerts together in 1992 in a very successful capital city tour that was entitled as “An Unforgettable Evening”. After many years, they are back together creating ‘Moments to Remember’ for this special series of concerts that is going to be held throughout major municipal theatres.

Julie and Simon realized that they had an extremely unique vocal blend, and that they also complimented each other’s technique and resonance. They also loved working together and singing similar repertoire, and also having a terrific rapport on stage; and hence the combination of Julie and Simon was born and they have come together to make some very magical music for the audience.
They also have continued to expand this duet collection and it ranges from the olden classics of Cole Porter, George Gershwin and Irving Berlin, through to beautiful contemporary hit songs, as well as the musical stage greats of Richard Rodgers and Andrew Lloyd Webber. This extremely popular King Island Dairy produces of high quality, French-style camembert, brie and blue cheeses, along with extremely traditional cheddars, hard cheeses, yoghurt and delectable, thick clotted tasty cream. Multi-award winning cheeses are created from the milk produced by the Island’s 25 dairy farms and 7,500 dairy cows. Tourists can visit the Fromagerie to  have the special samples of the King Island range of products and see cheeses maturing in the cellar. It is said that in 2002, King Island Dairies celebrated 100 years of dairying, making it one of Australia’s oldest cheese producers.


King Island was first sighted during the 1797 by  the Captain William Campbell, and was proclaimed a separate state in the 1825. It is said that the Island’s location, in the path of the Roaring Forty winds, resulted in hundreds of shipwrecks along its coastline during the 19th century. Local legend have said that the straw mattresses from the wrecks contained grass seeds that floated ashore and propagated in the island’s rich soil, resulting in a unique variety of grass on which the dairy cows of King Island graze.
